Although painting does not take a degree, and is more skill than intelligence, it is still very important to keep up with new information. Slow days, like today, are the perfect time to do this.
Although houses built after 1978 should not contain lead paint we often find ourselves working in older homes so it is important that we understand it.

What do you do if you have lead based paint in your home?
The best case scenario is to remove the lead paint. However, in most cases, the cost of this is too much. The alternative would be to encapsulate the lead paint with another paint. The important thing is to know that you have lead paint and watch for the possible hazards. Such as:
When paint ages it may release dust containing lead into the air.
If you have small children you will want to be sure they cannot chew on any painted areas.
If you remodel you will want to be sure you remove and dispose of it properly.
The list is really endless, just keep in mind lead paint is hazardous to everyone, but has the biggest impact on little ones.
Protect the children from exposure!!!
